Picture of OUR STORY

Her POV:

One random day while hanging out with friends, we discussed the qualities of an ideal partner. After that conversation, Fife (the best man) and I continued chatting, and he mentioned that he had a friend who might be a great match for me (Ayo). Curious, I asked more about this "friend," and he only had positive things to say about him. Without missing a beat, he called Ayo to see if he was interested, and guess what? He was...

His POV:

One day after work, I was in deep conversation with God, telling Him that I was ready to meet my wife. About a week later, I got a call from Fife. After catching up, he told me about this amazing woman named Vanessa and all her incredible qualities. He asked if I was interested, and of course, I said yes haha. He gave me her number, and a few days later, I decided to reach out to Vanessa to see if she was free for a call...

Her POV:

Shortly after, I received a message from Ayo. He wanted to have a call that evening, and thankfully, I was free. When we hopped on the call, being my natural self, I answered wearing my bonnet. We ended up chatting for an hour! The time flew by so quickly that we didn’t even realize how long it had been. At the end of the call, Ayo asked me out on a date...

His POV:

The conversation went so well that I just had to ask her out. We had so many things in common and found out Vanessa went to the same school as my sisters and I went to the same school as her brother. Most importantly, our faith aligned and coincidentally we had the same favorite song at the time - Jireh by Maverick City. We planned a movie date and kept chatting in the days leading up to it. We also met at Fife's house with some other friends a couple of days before the date and they were all surprised because I usually don't come to places if it's last minute but there was something so special about her that I had to. For our date, we watched Ticket to Paradise, and afterwards, we got corndogs and bubble tea. Now, anyone who knows me knows I don’t typically try new foods, but she got me to try Korean Corndogs within days of knowing each other! During our date, I loved how open she was and how easy it was to talk to her. From that moment, I could envision my future with her...

Her POV:

Our date was wonderful, and I loved how he answered all of my (intrusive) questions without hesitation. I was so impressed by everything I’d learned about him. Knowing that I was dating with the intention of marriage, I felt confident that he was the right person to continue this journey with. Throughout this period, I stayed in constant communication with God, asking Him to guide us and reveal anything we needed to know. At the end of our second date, Ayo asked me to be his girlfriend (in his usual romantic way, with a bouquet of flowers). There was no hesitation on my part—I knew this was ordained by God...

His POV:

From our first conversation to asking Vanessa to be my girlfriend to the moment I proposed, she has been nothing short of a gift from God. I am so excited to start this new chapter with my best friend and the love of my life. I pray that the Lord will remain in the center of our relationship and guide us through every step we take and every decision we make.
